CR Wireless Expands

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. (May 2006) — CR Wireless,
Inc. (CRW), one of the highest-volume retailers of cellular
communications
and paging solutions in the Capital Region of New York
State, has more than doubled in size with help from a powerful
software system.
Frank Grant, Founder and CEO of CRW, says, “We’ve
grown from five to 11 retail locations in less than four
years, thanks in part to the control that EXEControl gives
us.”
Prior to purchasing EXEControl, a comprehensive enterprise
resource planning and customer relationship management
business system, from EXEControl Global Solutions in 2002,
CRW had been using a variety of software packages – including
some industry-specific solutions – to manage its
business. Despite the software, significant off-line effort
and human intervention was required to produce the business
information necessary for efficient management.
Grant says, “To move ahead, we decided to invest
in state-of-the-art technology to help us grow and maintain
leadership. It was a strategic decision that has paid huge
dividends in increased efficiencies and a great working
relationship for both companies.”
Now, with EXEControl, all of CRW’s stores are integrated
with corporate headquarters. Data is entered once and is
instantly available wherever it is needed. The time managers
once spent creating reports in Excel has been eliminated.
Commissions due from wireless service providers are now
automatically tracked, as are renewal calls for cellular
customers, inventory, and recurring billing cycles for
pagers.
“We’re getting a lot more performance from
EXEControl than we were from the industry-specific software.
The system works so well,” says Grant, “that
when we had the opportunity to acquire two new locations
on short notice in January, 2006, the EXEControl Global
Solutions (EGS) team had them up and running in less than
a day.”
How “Disaster” Friday became “Winfall” Saturday
Grant adds, “Fast response is typical for the EGS
team. In the Christmas season last year, they were able
to turn a potential disaster into a reason for celebration.”
On Friday, December 16, Grant was returning with his family
from Disney on Ice when he noticed cars in the parking
lot at CRW’s location at Delaware Plaza. Curious,
Grant stopped and discovered that the company’s internet
service, which links all the stores with headquarters,
was out. Without it, operations would slow to a crawl.
Grant says, “I called EXEControl Global Solutions’ President
Allan Robison and told him the problem. He got in his car,
personally picked up our servers at midnight, hosted them
at EGS’s headquarters, and had everything running
when our stores opened Saturday morning. That was just
in time for the biggest retail day in our company’s
history. Can you imagine the losses if our servers were
down?”
Grant concludes, “EXEControl gives us countless
small advantages in different aspects of our business.
Each of those small advantages, exploited over time, becomes
a big advantage. As a result, EXEControl gives a very large
advantage that is helping us to carve out a market position
in a very competitive business.”
